In-Flight Beauty Essentials

With Ryan and I mere days away from jet-setting off to Las Vegas, I’m starting to gather the beauty items that I want with me in my purse or carry-on tote so I can freshen up before we board the airplane and after we land. To avoid packing my entire makeup bag in my carry-on, I’m sticking to the absolute essentials that I’ll need to get me through the 3.5-hour flight.

Airports and planes tend to dry out my skin and lips, so my favorite lip balm and a travel-size bottle of lotion is crucial. I’ve been loving the Sonia Kashuk lotions for sometime now because they are thick and creamy, and the fragrance is sublime.

The Precision Q-tips are pretty much the best multipurpose tool ever, and they are easy to pack and cheap! I like to use these for any minor beauty blunder, such as to fix creasing under eye concealer or to remove mascara residue on my brow bone. Another great trick that I came across on Pinterest (where else?) is to put some of your blush on a cotton ball, and then seal it inside a plastic bag until you’re ready to use it. Is that not genius? Now I don’t have to carry my blush compact or a brush – I simply swipe the blush onto my cheeks, blend with my fingers, and toss the cotton ball in the trash. Easy peasy!

Once I’m off the plane, I like to use the Evian Facial Spray to help waken up my skin and rehydrate it – all that recirculated cabin air and pressure after several hours can do a number on my skin. This leaves me looking awake with fresh, healthy skin.

What are your beauty travel essentials?

Pssst – I’m taking over the Blogger Closet on Instagram for next few days! Huge thanks to Amanda for the opportunity – be sure to follow along!

I have to say the evian mist is a life saver not only to keep your face hydrated in flight – but also if you're going to a hot place this is perfect to carry with you!! The blush touch-up I've never thought to do – great idea!!

  • Love Vegas!! Where are you guys going to stay? And that flight isn't bad at all to me, but ew yes planes definitely cause dry skin! I hope that you had a nice weekend and that you are having a good day so far too! 🙂

All good tips for that flight to Vegas! Love that Evian spray, have used it for years! My favorite lip balm, too! So excited for you to go on this trip, plus I get to spend time with my grand dog Finley!

  • Plane rides always leave you feeling a little eh, great tips to not have to haul your entire make up bag! Can't wait to see all the fun things you do on your trip!

  • Love the blush idea! That is genius. I always have to keep lotion and chapstick handy. Planes always do a number on my skin!

  • I've never heard of that blush tip, that's genius!! I battle with shine after long flights so I usually load up my retractable kabuki brush with some powder and just take that along so I don't have to worry about mess or shattering a compact. Great tips!

  • The blush tip really is genius! Although I'm usually guilty of throwing my entire makeup bag in my carry-on… only because I have no idea what I would do if my luggage were to get lost and it was in there!! Your trip will be here before you know it 🙂

  • I always forget q-tips when I travel and almost always need them for makeup mishaps! I'm with you on them being a great multipurpose tool!

This is such an awesome post! I'm always looking to stash away goodies in my makeup bag for trips – and I love these! xx

  • I thought that blush trick was genius!

  • I know, that Evian spray is a must-have for warmer climates!

  • We are staying at the Mirage. And no, it's not a super long flight, but I still like to have my essentials with me in case. 🙂

  • Thanks, girl!

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! My skin is so sensitive and dry when it comes to airports and planes.

  • Right?! It's such a genius trick.

  • Yeah girl!

  • That's a great idea with a retractable kabuki brush! I never thought of that. I may have to add that to my bag.

  • I always struggle with that dilemma – I would be heartbroken if my luggage got lost and didn't have my makeup bag, but I guess it's the risk I have to take. Fingers crossed I didn't just jinx myself!

  • Right?! I use them for everything.

  • Thanks, girl! Glad it was helpful. xo
