Only Pick One – Face Products

Happy Monday, all!

With the start of a new month, I thought it would be fun to follow in the steps of my friend Mia and introduce her Only Pick One series to the blog!

Every Monday in November, I’ll be sharing my holy grail beauty products in the categories of Face, Eyes, Lips and Scents. These are the products that I absolutely cannot live without and if I was forced to choose only one product from each category, these would be it.

First up, we are chatting about face products.

Foundation // Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. I try a lot of foundations, and I regularly switch up my foundation routine, but I always come back to this one. It provides the perfect amount of buildable coverage, and it leaves my skin looking matte but not dead. This product truly has never failed me – I wore it on my wedding day and didn’t even have to touch up!

Blemish Concealer // Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer. I’ve suffered from acne my whole life, which in return has left my skin uneven. This stuff covers up any active blemishes or leftover dark spots like a dream. It blends seamlessly with any foundation, and this tube has lasted me a long time. A great dupe for this product is Hard Candy’s Glamoflauge Concealer.

Under Eye Concealer // MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I only started using this product a little more than a year ago, and now I literally can’t live without it. From it’s creamy texture to it’s full coverage, it’s the ultimate defense in under eye circles.

Powder // Airspun Loose Face Powder. This was a tough one since I also adore MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish Natural pressed powder, but Airspun truly is the best (and cheapest!) loose powder I’ve ever used. A container of this stuff probably will last me a lifetime, and my skin always appears airbrushed after I stipple this on after applying my liquid makeup.

Bronzer // Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. This product can do it all – since it is a matte finish, I use it for both contouring and all-over bronzing. There are two different shades available to suit your skin tone, and it doesn’t have any hint of orange in it. Plus, it actually smells like chocolate – who doesn’t like that little kind of pick-me-up in the morning?

Blush // Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed. If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, this pick should come as no surprise to you. Tarte’s blush in Exposed goes with any makeup look, and it is the most universally-flattering shade of blush on anybody. Not to mention, it really does last throughout a 12-hour day.

What face product(s) can’t you live without?

I've heard really great things about MAC pro long wear – that will definitely be my next concealer!! I love Tarte's blush – it's amazing…need it in every color!!

I used to use that Estee Lauder foundation religiously and now I forgot why I stopped! And I definitely need to try that blemish concealer. I've heard great things about Make Up Forever!

  • Love the Mac Pro Longwear and the Tarte blushes! I'm going to have to try out that powder now and join you and Mia in these Pick one posts!

  • I finally caught up on your posts, I'm sorry I was MIA! 🙂 I have heard SO much about that blush and concealer. One of these days I will have to try them. That powder sounds fantastic too, I'll have to look for it. I hope that you had a nice weekend!! 🙂

You introduced me to the Estee Lauder foundation, it is a good one! I also go back to Prescriptives Virtual Skin and their concealer from time to time. And I've used Cover Girl Cheekers blushes for forever! Guess I'm pretty low maintenance!

I am so glad you are doing this series, I was definitely hoping you would since we're beauty twinsies and all 🙂 I have been wanting to try the Airspun powder and I always forget to look for it! Oh yes, MAC concealer for the win. Hands down! The Estee Lauder foundation is still at the top of my wishlist for when I get low on foundations!

  • You would love the MAC concealer!

  • Make Up Forever usually is hit or miss for me, but I've loved that concealer for so long now! You should try the Hard Candy dupe before committing to the more expensive version. 🙂

  • The powder can be hard to find, but keep an eye out at Walmart – it's usually in one of the beauty aisles on the very bottom shelf! I would love to see what products you pick for this series!

  • You're so sweet that you got caught up on my posts! 🙂 You definitely should try the powder for how cheap it is, and the Hard Candy dupe for the MUFE concealer is a great drugstore alternative.

  • I know you love Prescriptives – I wasn't sure if they were still selling it online!

  • Thank YOU for coming up with the concept for this series – I'm excited to share my picks every week. None of them probably will come as a shock to you seeing as we are makeup twins. 🙂 I really think you'd enjoy the ELDWL foundation – you'll have to let me know when you try it!

  • You know I could not agree more with you on Exposed! I've hardly worn any other blush since I got it! My skin has been so sensitive lately that now that it's finally back to normal I'm afraid to throw something new into the mix, but I hear so many things about the concealer and foundation that I really want to try them out!

  • Debra Stachelski

They do, I just ordered some new makeup!

  • Love love love these types of posts! So glad you're doing this! I use a lot of Make Up For Ever products, but I've never tried their concealer. I'm usually game for trying new products, but the one thing I just can't switch up is my loose powder. I'm addicted to Smashbox's Halo Perfecting Powder. I love that it gives coverage, but it doesn't look caked on! I'm so excited to check out your recommendations!

Ooo I am going to love this series! I am excited to hear about that loose powder! Thanks for sharing all of these!

  • Love this series! I'm a big Tarte fan and keep wanting to try that blush!

  • mdb0112

Definitely book markin this for the next time I need some beauty products. I can't live without Bobbi Brown's bronzer brick. xo

  • I'm convinced that Exposed is the best blush ever to be made, lol! The Estee Lauder foundation should not cause you any skin issues – my skin is ridiculously sensitive, and that foundation never has caused any breakouts!

  • Smashbox products are fantastic – their oil-free face primer used to be my holy grail of all makeup items! That powder sounds pretty nice – I'm all about a powder that doesn't make you look cakey. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Thanks, girl! You typically can find that loose powder at Walmart on the very bottom shelf in one of the beauty aisles.

  • You must try that blush! You will never look back. 🙂

  • I've always wanted to try a BB bronzer brick – I've gotten my makeup done at her counter a few times, and the brick always gives my skin a beautiful glow. The Revlon one's that just came out this summer are a good dupe I think.

  • I was just busy with work and got caught up in other things. 🙂 Congratulations on purchasing a new home too!!!

  • I'm intrigued by that concealer! I have good ones for under the eyes but when it comes to blemishes, I can't find one that works all that great. I'm in need of a less pink blush for winter so I am going to look into the Tarte blushes, they sound amazing!

  • Can't go wrong with Tarte blushes! What's the main difference between the mac concealer and the makeup forever one. Is one just specifically for under the eyes? The makeup forever one sounds wonderful, have you used that under your eyes? I need a miracle worker for under my eyes!
