As I mentioned in a previous post, IKEA is one of my favorite places to shop for affordable home furnishings and decor. Their inventory to be good quality, on trend and, of course, easy on the checkbook. During a shopping trip a couple weekends ago, I was thrilled to see that IKEA is keeping up with consumer demand for farmhouse-inspired pieces. I picked up quite a few things for our home, and there are others that I hope to go back for in the future! If you’re also into this style of home decor, here’s a roundup of eight affordable IKEA farmhouse finds.
My favorite find was this mirror, which will be a welcome addition to our downstairs half bathroom (our next DIY renovation project after the kitchen). I’m always a fan of taller mirrors (what some might deem “skinny mirrors”), and the color and beveled detail lends itself that rustic cottage charm.
You can’t beat $30 for a quality jute rug, and this was exactly what I was searching for to put in front of the kitchen sink. Other favorite finds were these white and gray checked pillow covers – I also picked up the down feather pillow inserts, and they are a dream for only $6! These popular white pitchers also officially made their way into my shopping cart, and I’m still scheming as to where in the house that I want to put them.
What I hope to go back for? This wicker storage chest and these botanical prints. I see those floral/botanical prints in tons of farmhouse home decor pictures – they are so versatile and work in practically any room with any decor. And, honorable mentions go to this pendant light and these linen dishtowels. Funny story is I actually had every intention of purchasing those dishtowels, but when we went to check out I realized that they fell out of my shopping bag. Oops!
It’s always nice to find a few updates for the home that don’t break the bank. The house feels refreshed, and I’m anxiously awaiting to put that rug down in the kitchen!
