The Last Weekend of June Links & Loves

TGIF! Anybody else feel like it was an extra-long week? At least summer officially is in full-swing, and we have the holiday break to look forward to in a couple weeks! Let’s kick off this weekend with a few links and loves.

Psst – want to know something hilarious? Approximately two hours after this picture was taken, I had spaghetti sauce splattered all down the front. At a wedding reception. No Shout wipes or Tide pens available. I don’t think I’ll ever leave the house without either again!

I’m intrigued by the list of 23 beauty-related products you need from Amazon.

Helene is onto something when she says SEO is killing your blog. Also loved this post about vintage blogging. Can’t we just go back to having fun?

This knit maxi dress from Target already has been worn too many times to count.

I finished reading The Handmaid’s Tale this week (psst – it’s free in the Amazon Prime book library!), and we just started the Hulu series. So far, I like the series better than the book (shocking!). Anyone else have opinions on this?

The book you need to add to your summer reading list.

Carrie Underwood’s tank top-ready arm workout. Yes, please.

The best Adobe Lightroom tutorial on how to make simple edits. Still on the fence about whether or not to make this investment.

Considering a camera trade-in for this compact Canon that still appears to have similar capabilities as a DSLR. I’m just over the big clunky camera, and we never take it anywhere for that reason.

The best Target deals for less than $25.

Oh yeah – I created a Shop My Instagram page!

That’s all from me today! What’s on your agenda this weekend? I have my fingers crossed that the rain finally goes away so I can get outside for a bit. It’s almost July, and I still look like Casper the Friendly Ghost. That is not okay.

Have a great weekend, and see you next week!

  • Oh no! It never fails you spill something at the worst time and when there are no wipes in sight! You looked adorable though! Definitely need to check out that Lightroom tutorial, I’m trying to use that more. And yes to those Target deals!

    • Right?! I seriously couldn’t believe it, and of course I was trying not to cause a scene/be too upset since we were at a wedding reception. Oh well, luckily I got it all out when we got home that night!

  • We’re making our way through The Handmaid’s Tale too, and I have to admit that I really like the show! I think that it started off a lot quicker and explained things a little better than the book does, but I can’t wait to finish it! If your’e on the fence about getting a mirrorless camera, I say go for it! Chris made the investment before our Europe trip last year, and his pictures turn out amazing and plus he doesn’t have to carry a big bulky camera around. I still love and use my DSLR all the time, but I think that it all depends on what you think that you’ll utilize more. Maybe stop by Best Buy and try holding them and playing with them to see what you’d like.

    • Thanks for the advice, girl! You guys are pros in the camera department, so I trust what you tell me. 🙂 We have one episode to go of The Handmaid’s Tale … we need to discuss when we’re finished!

I probably shop more at Amazon and Target than anywhere else, so I will be checking out those lists! I may have to sign up for a free trial of Hulu just to watch The Handmaid’s Tale, the story just sounds so intriguing to me. So glad your spaghetti mishap didn’t ruin that pretty dress so you can wear it again! And congrats on your Shop My Instagram page, I know it will be a hit!

  • Checking out that SEO and lightroom link ASAP. Thanks babe!

  • I could not love Helene’s recent posts more, especially the one about vintage blogging. Oh how I miss the good ol’ days of blogging! And ooooh no about the spaghetti sauce on that beautiful dress! At least you got some great pics in first! Happy Friday <3

    • I’m with you, those were the days for sure! And, I know – I was SO upset about my dress, but luckily I got it all out when we got home!

  • Oh no! Spaghetti sauce is the worst! One time I got a beautiful brand new white sweater and wore it to an Indian restaurant and the server spilled my chicken tikka masala all over me. It was heartbreaking and embarrassing!!!

    I love Helene too!

  • Shucks, that’s a pretty dress. I hope you got out the sauce.
