Recent Instagram Outfits and Beauty Looks

With Instagram these days, it seems like I only see content from the same five accounts. I know we’re all feeling this way – it’s annoying, but I guess there’s not a lot we can do to fix it. I’m over @msinthemidwest if you’re not already following along. If my photos aren’t hitting your feed, here’s a roundup of my recent Instagram outfits and beauty looks!

With my hair longer than it has been in a while, I’ve been trying to get creative with styling it. On hot, humid days, I use this tutorial for a low messy bun. It’s easy and still looks polished.

Have I mentioned just how much I LOVE THESE TEES? I’m kicking myself for not snagging every single color during the Nordstrom sale. Luckily, all colors are now restocked and still less than $25. I think I just need to add white to my collection, and then I’m all set.

Other hairstyles on repeat are effortless waves and a half top-knot. Both I usually achieve on day-old hair or sweaty, post-gym hair. Cute, right? 😉 If you’re curious how I curl my hair, check out this really old tutorial. My hair was a lot shorter, but my technique is basically still the same. Do you want to see an updated tutorial?

I pretty much wear some variation of this outfit every single day. Boring? Yes. But ridiculously comfortable? Hell yes. You just can’t go wrong with a tee and distressed boyfriend shorts this time of year.

I had a lot of questions about my eye makeup a few weeks back after posting to Instagram Stories. Nine times out of 10 I use this palette. I do plan to film a quick tutorial in the near future!

A summer wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without a couple easygoing sundresses. I never thought I’d like a drop-waist silhouette, but it’s actually really cute and flattering! Plus, who would I be if I turned down blue and white stripes … or anything striped for that matter? Also, I live in these sandals – I have them in both nude and black.

  • Such great photos! I love how consistent your Instagram feed looks. I need to work on mine.

  • It’s so hard to crack the instagram algorithm! I think since instastories is now more time sensitive, people have been promoting their IG posts there! Which I love because it reminds me to look at their account. I love your hair posts! Would love a tutorial for the half bun!

    • I think you’re right, it seems that posts do better when you’re regularly posting to Instagram Stories. I admit that I even find myself going through stories more than my actual feed! Thanks, girl – if I can now get that bun to look the same trying to do it again, I’ll do a tutorial lol.

Very cute pics! Do I need to get on the Instagram bandwagon?

  • Girl you are killing it in the hair department! And I wish I had bought every color in that Lush tee too!

  • I’m beyond over the Instagram algorithm, and am hoping that someday they’ll actually listen to all the users and at least give us the option to view chronologically again like on Facebook. It defaults to “top” but you can change it to “most recent”. Your feed is so pretty, crisp, and clean <3

  • I hate the Instagram algorithm because I end up seeing pictures from accounts that I don’t care about. I love that bun that you did! It’s seriously so cute! And that sundress really is perfect for the summer!

    • It’s so annoying! They should just change it back to the way that everyone liked it before. Thanks, girl! The funny thing about those hairstyles is the minute I try to do them again, it doesn’t turn out the same. ha!

  • The Adored Life

I HATE instagram so much right now! I see all the photos I DON’T WANT OT SEE AND IT PISSES ME OFF! Phew. Sorry, just had to get that up!

    The Adored Life

  • I see like the same 5 people on Instagram and nobody that I actually want to see. Loving all your outfits especially the comfy basics. The drop waist on that dress is so pretty!

  • Great feed! I just love plain tee specially v necks one!

  • oh that dress is so cute!! love it. bummer about it being sold out. and yes please to updated curl tutorial. always. and yes to seeing the same five people or whatever. i don’t follow a lot of people on instagram (i mean, it’s still a lot as in it’s more than 10 people, but less than like 1000 lol) and it’s really annoying when i miss posts from people i consider friends. get it together instagram!

    • it’s so cute and comfortable! I like that I’ll be able to throw a jacket over it, too when the temps cool down. You got it on the curling tutorial! 🙂 Instagram is annoying, lol.

  • Love the blue v-neck. totally my vibe.

  • Ok, confession. I purchased that tee during the sale, tried it on and hated it on me, and returned it. But I’ve seen SO many people love it, it almost makes me wish I had played around with it more. I also love your hair in that low messy bun!

    • Oh no! I guess I could see how it’s not for everyone. I was kind of skeptical about it at first because I don’t typically like those slits on the side, but it just works. Thanks, girl! I haven’t been able to recreate that bun for the life of me, lol.
