Fall Goals and To-Do List

It’s a bit hard to get into the sweater weather mindset when it’s still 90 degrees outside … But, here I am to talk all about my fall goals and to-do list! Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season of the year, but it’s also one of the busiest. If I don’t write down a few things that I want to accomplish – both out of necessity and for fun – I know that I won’t enjoy everything that this season has to offer!

Fall Goals and To-Do List

Go to a corn maze. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do a corn maze, so I’m on a mission to make it happen within the next month. There’s actually an incredible maze only a half hour away from us – seriously, go look at it. This year’s theme is Elvis! They even offer nighttime experiences that involve glow sticks, so that sounds even more fun.

Finish painting the upstairs hallway. Painting our stairwell and upstairs hallway has commenced! Ryan has one more coat of wall paint to go (check out this post for all our home paint colors), and then it will be time to paint the doors and install new trim/baseboards/crown molding. One step closer to never seeing that ugly 90’s oak wood EVER AGAIN. Cue the cheers.

Hit up a local farm for all the fall treats. Okay, admittedly Ryan and I already did this a couple weeks ago. But, since it was so early I didn’t come home with too much. I’d like to go back and bring home fresh apple cider, any and all baked goods, apples and so on. If you’re local to the area, head over to The Little Farmer in Malone, Wis. That’s where the above picture was taken. It’s the sweetest place and perfect for fall family/pumpkin patch photos!

Figure out what I want to do with the blog. I mentioned this briefly in last week’s coffee with Karly. I’m contemplating taking this space to somewhere new, so I need to make a few concrete decisions and then not second-guess those decisions. The possibility of change is equal parts exciting and terrifying, but I’m also realistic in knowing that I’m not the biggest blog so a major overhaul really won’t screw much up.

Keep up with running and regular workouts. I’m most likely finished with 5k races for the year, but I need to keep myself motivated to continue training. I don’t think this will be much of an issue since it has become a big part of my daily routine. Seriously, running does wonders for my mental health. I’ve also lost around five pounds, so I’ll keep that in the back of my head as I try not to stuff my face with all the seasonal goodies!

Get ready for another year of Thanksgiving hosting duties. I’m so excited to be hosting Thanksgiving at our home again this year. This time, with my side of the family! I have big shoes to fill since my mom basically is Martha Stewart when it comes to this holiday, but at least I’ll have her on-hand to help. 😉

Pick out and order Christmas cards. I know, it seems a little early to be putting this on a to-do list. However, with hosting Thanksgiving again, it would be nice to have this finished and ready to go so it’s one less thing to worry about around that time. Plus, we already have new family photos to choose from so that’s one less step this year!

Figure out a photo book system. The good intentions always are there to create and print photo books, but that task always seems to fall to the wayside. I want our photos off the computer, though! Do you have any tips for how to get this done? Since a majority of our pictures are from my iPhone, I’m thinking Chatbooks might be a good option.

Okay, eight fall goals and to-do list … that’s doable, right?! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a fun and productive fall season!

I’m excited to do the fall day where we go to the farm, get the apples and pumpkins but it’ll happen in october when it’s cooler out LOL! I’m loving all your goals and I know you’ll get them done! xo, Biana-BlovedBoston

  • I love these goals! Did you decide if you were going to stay with WP or convert back to blogger? I’m having the same debate now and can’t make up my mind. As far as photos & photo books, I have to get my stuff together on this too. I feel like everyday I’m getting more behind with it. Let me know if you figure out a good system!

  • My husband and I were actually just having a similar conversation about things we wanted to do this fall, so I love this. Christmas cards and taking advantage of fall things (like Thanksgiving and fall treats) are on my list too!

This is such a fun list, I’ve always wanted to do a corn maze myself! Whatever you decide to do with the blog, I know it will be great!!

  • Corn mazes are always so much fun, and can we talk about how much I love that vest on you <3

  • Keeping up with running and regular workouts is always on my list. I dont have a fall where I am but it is part of my to do list in this season.

  • I always love to have Christmas Cards done and sent out as quickly as possible after Thanksgiving as well. I’m not sure how that’ll look for us this year, but fingers crossed that I can make it happen! And I love that you want to do photobooks! They can be super time consuming, but they’re so worth it in the end! I’ve heard great things about chatbooks too, but haven’t actually tried them out myself.

    • I do love making photo books, but they are so time consuming! I just need to set aside time to work on them.

  • Such a great list Karly! I really want to get my holiday cards out earlier this year too!

I’m not a blogger but a longtime reader and I love your blog! I hope the changes aren’t going to be that you stop blogging. For what it’s worth, change is scary but I’m sure it will all work out and your readers will follow (including me!)

    • Awe, thank you for your sweet words and encouragement! I’m definitely not going to stop blogging, just rebranding a bit. Still thinking it all through though!

This season is always so fun with all the seasonal things you can add to a bucket list – I’m dying to pick out Christmas cards already!

  • Such a great list! Gets me super excited for fall!

  • There are a few home projects I need to tackle, too- and I’ve started running, as well! (Light jogging/almost dying, you know, same thing.) I’d like to keep that up through the fall!

  • i have had a ‘make photo year books’ on my goal list for like 75 years, so i’ll let you know what i do when i finally get around to it 😉 most of my photos are from my phone but i don’t care. i just want them off the computer as well.
congrats on the weight loss and the improvement on your mental health, that is seriously so amazing! i agree, exercise does wonders for my mind.

    • Haha why are photo books so dang hard and time consuming? Almost all my photos are from my phone, too. I’ve thought about getting one of those little printers to just print them myself and stick ‘em in a notebook. Seems doable enough, right? And thanks, lady! The mental health is what really matters to me with the running, weight loss is just an added bonus!
