Good morning, all! I hope you had a great weekend.
As you know, Ryan and I were in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, all weekend for our friends’ wedding. It was a beautiful weekend with lots of love, happiness and laughs. So, I only find it natural to share some weekending snaps today!
First up was the rehearsal at the church and dinner Friday night for the bridal party and families of the bride and groom. It was at a cool restaurant in downtown Cedar Rapids; we had the entire top floor to ourselves, which included pool and shuffleboard. #score
Megan, the bride-to-be, was just glowing – you could tell how excited and happy she was just by looking at her.
Here’s Ryan and I with Megan and Adam a.k.a. The Fellowship. I’m not exactly sure why we started calling ourselves that – it probably involved some cocktails and a night out in college – but it has stuck ever since.
So, after a (short) night of sleep, we woke up to severe thunderstorms the next morning. They were so severe in fact that the hotel lost power! We originally were supposed to have hair and makeup come to us to get ready, so at the last minute we ended up moving the party to Megan’s parent’s house. Nothing like going into crisis management mode at 5:30 a.m.! Luckily, everything worked out for the best, and we had a fun and relaxing morning of getting beautified.
Based on all your feedback about how I should do my hair for the wedding, I took the two most-voted photos and told the hairstylist to create a hybrid updo of the two. This is what she came up with – we dubbed it the Hollywood/Carrie Underwood hair. I’ll take that!
Then, it was the moment we all were waiting for – the wedding ceremony! Megan and Adam opted to do a first look, so they saw each other before the ceremony and took some of the formal family photos. We were then able to just hang out in a back room before the ceremony began – they were simply beaming with joy!
After the ceremony, we headed out on the party bus to take more bridal party photos, and then it was time for the reception! I was so happy to be reunited with my closest gal pals – I really miss the days of living five minutes from them.
You could feel the love for Megan and Adam in the room all night, and we are so happy that we got to be a part of their special day.
What were you up to this weekend? Tell me below!
