It seems that everybody has a different take on what should and shouldn’t be readily available on a nightstand, as well as what decor pieces to put on display without making it appear cluttered. Since clutter stresses me out, I like to keep the top of my nightstand relatively open with the exception of a few nighttime beauty products and decor pieces.
As far as beauty products go, a thick, moisturizing hand cream and a good lip balm must be within arm’s reach at all times. An abundance of reading material – whether it be on my iPad or books in my reading queue – and my glasses always are present on my nightstand because before bed is when I do a majority of my leisure reading. Plus, if the book has a pretty cover, it doubles as decor! Lastly, my Kate Spade polka dotted ring holder is used as a catchall for any loose items, and a pretty candle and our wedding portrait play a constant to keep the overall look grounded. Like how dusty and dog hair-covered my wedding frame is?
Lucky for me, my nightstand basically can double as a dresser since it has three drawers, so it’s easy for me to swap out items and store away books, candles, etc., when I’m ready for a change.
