I’m sure plenty of you get sick and tired of listening to us Midwestern folk talk about the weather, especially winter weather – one minute it’s 40 F and sunny (which, let’s face it, feels like a heat wave), and the next it’s 10 F and snowing. I know that we’re technically still in the dead of winter, and I do live in northern Wisconsin, but c’mon Mother Nature – throw us a bone here!
One of the few upsides to this weather is being able to rock a cute, but of course, warm coat. I scored this cutie on clearance from the Thakoon for DesignNation line at Kohl’s a couple months back, and it’s probably my favorite coat that I own – it’s pink, it’s plaid, and it’s fleece – what more could you possibly want in a coat?
Also, I’ve been living in my “fUGGS” aka fake UGGS from Costco. Yes, these are Kirkland brand boots, and I stinkin’ love them. I wear them as slippers around the house, and I wear them out in public when I just want to throw on a comfy pair of boots. I sprayed some shoe protector stuff on them to help minimize any water damage, so I’m hoping that they will hold up for a season or two.
In other news, how was everybody’s weekend? I’m sure plenty of us still are in a food coma from Super Bowl Sunday. What did all of you think of the event? Lady Gaga was the highlight for me – she slayed the National Anthem. The rest of it, however, I found boring – there only were a few commercials that actually made me laugh, and although I’m only one of the few with this opinion, I thought halftime was terrible! (With the exception of Bruno Mars and Uptown Funk because, well – that’s pretty much the best party song ever to be created). I don’t even understand why Coldplay was named the headliner – they only sang a couple songs, and then completely disappeared, during which time I began hysterically laughing when Beyonce almost fell over. She handled it like a champ, but I’m glad for once it was broadcasted that “Queen Bey” can make mistakes, too.
Oh, well – who am I kidding? I’m glad that I ate two heaping bowls of chili and ended the night with Downton Abbey – that’s my kind of Super Bowl Sunday!
