When we first moved into our house, pretty much the first order of renovation business was to switch out all the 90s-style light fixtures. There were boob lights everywhere (I know you know what type of fixture I’m talking about), and everything was a beautiful shade of brass (not). I had to do a lot of research as we started to pick out lights because with 8 to 9′ ceilings, you’re typically limited to flush mount and semi-flush mount fixtures. Lighting can be ridiculously expensive, but like most things, I was able to find affordable options without the sacrifice of style. I get a lot of questions, both online and in person, about the fixtures installed so far in our home, so here’s our affordable modern farmhouse ceiling lights from Lowe’s.
These flush mount fixtures are exactly what I was looking for to replace the old-school boob lights. They provide enough design but are still neutral to go with everything. This was important since these are in both the downstairs and upstairs hallways.
My favorite light of the bunch is the semi-flush mount chandelier that hangs in our foyer. I always wanted a statement light in our entryway, but I only had seen large chandeliers that hung pretty low. This one is the perfect complement of style and function, and it embodies the modern farmhouse feel that I hope our guests get when they walk through the rest of the house.
If you haven’t perused the Lowe’s lighting department, you’re missing out! The prices are hard to beat, a majority of the lights are on-trend, and there’s a type of light for any style of home. Plus, we’ve had zero issues with installation. The instructions are straight forward, and we’ve been able to have each light installed within a half hour.
