Best of the IKEA 2016 Winter Collection

Hello from under 10+ inches of snow! We got buried this weekend, but it made for the coziest time inside with a fire burning, cookies in the oven, and lots of wrapping. Guess we will have a white Christmas after all! I must admit that with Christmas only a week away, I’m already thinking about how to keep some of the decor up after it’s over. Does anyone else feel like everything looks so empty once the trees and decorations come down? It kind of makes me sad. So, I’m determined to keep up winter-appropriate decorations and also add a few new pieces to tie us over until spring. I spent some time digging around for inspiration this weekend, and it’s no surprise that IKEA is where it’s at. I put together a best of the IKEA 2016 winter collection to inspire you also to keep up or put up winter decorations of your own!

As always, the best part about IKEA is their prices. Nothing in this roundup is more than $50 so you can afford to pick up some new decor to display throughout the snowy season!

Our last trip to IKEA was the end of October, so I only saw a few of these items in person as they were just stocking the shelves. I did pick up a few rolls of their plain craft paper, and wow – I’m so impressed! It is high quality, thick wrapping paper that has been a dream to work with as I wrap presents. With several prints to choose from and for only $3 or $4 a roll, I would pick up several!

My mom snagged two of these pillow covers for me, and I’m pretty much obsessed with the pattern. The neutral colors and subtlety of the print make it a perfect transition piece from Christmas to winter decor. You can bet that these will be on the loveseat or chairs in our sitting room! I like to have festive napkins on hand for the holidays, so I picked up a pack in the same pattern. I actually keep them in our half bathroom as an alternative to a towel for guests to dry their hands.

While it may be leaning more toward the Christmas side of things, I think this tree could be pretty as a winter centerpiece. Especially in the beige color, it will add a woodsy-rustic vibe to any room. Plus, it lights up! How fun is that? I also love that this rug is reversible – you’re basically getting two rugs for the price of one. Can’t beat that. Although, I admit that the striped side probably would be our choice at all times.

See? The fun and pretty decor pieces don’t have to get packed away once the holidays are over. I hope that my best of the IKEA winter 2016 collection roundup gets your wheels turning on how to transition your holiday decor into something that you can keep up all winter!
